Mallorca is not only a fantastic island for biking and diving, but it also has a great history.. And you can really see it when you cycle around with beautiful places as Petra, Capdepeira, Felanitx and Arta.. Arta is a rural town in the north east of Mallorca.. And it is only 6km from Son Servera.. Arta is a town with a great history.. It was already occupied at least 3000 years ago.. It has this maze of really small streets where you can get lost looking at the beautiful houses.. At the top of the town is the church with a really nice cafe, where you can buy the best cake. Especially when you have a break from your bike ride.. After the cake you can bike through the Llevent Natural Park to the monastery of Betlem.. You have to take this really steep and winding road.. But the reward in the silent monastery is worth it.. After the warm climb, you can just cool down in the silent church.. After that you can check out the view behind te church.. It is a view of the coastline which is amazing.. After a nice break at the monastery you get the reward of biking down again.. Feeling the wind in your hair.. And the nice smell of the trees around you.. If you feel hungry again after your climb and rest you can enjoy a nice Spanish lunch in one of the cafe’s in Arta.. Before hitting the road again and visit maybe Capdepeira with it’s restored castle or maybe the beautiful beaches around Cala Ratjada..
